Eligibility Criteria for Joining PAF as a Commissioned Officer in 2023
Candidates aspiring to join the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) must meet the following eligibility criteria. Comprehensive information regarding education, height, and age requirements is provided below for each post. Note that the age limits for all posts are 16 to 22 years and 18 to 30 years (as of April 20th, 2024). The required height is 5 feet 4 inches (163 cm) for males and 4 feet 10 inches for females.

- 156 General Duty Pilot GD (P) FSC/ A-Level 16-22 years
- 102 Aeronautical Engineering Course FSC/ A-Level 16-22 years
- 112 Air Defence Course FSC/ A-Level 16-22 years
- 14 Logistics Course FSC/ A-Level 16-22 years
- 31 Admin and Special Duties Course FSC/ A-Level 16-22 years
- Accounts Branch B.Com (4 years)/ M.Com/ ACCA / ACMA/ BBA/ MBA/ BS in Accounting or Finance 18-30 years
- MET Branch MS/ MSc in Meteorology/ MSc (Physics/ Math) 18-30 years
How to Join PAF as a Commissioned Officer:
If you are interested, follow these steps:
- Visit the official Pakistan Air Force PAF website: www.joinpaf.gov.pk
- Undergo an initial medical examination and interview at I&S Centre.
- Only shortlisted candidates will proceed to ISSB (Inter Services Selection Board) for testing and interviews.
- Further testing and interviews will be conducted at ISSB Kohat, Gujranwala, Malir, and Quetta.
- A final medical examination will take place at CMB, Lahore.
- GD (P) candidates will undergo a Flying Aptitude Test (FAT).
- CSC candidates will be interviewed by AHQ Special Selection Board.
- Final selection will be determined by Air Headquarters based on merit.
- Note: Candidates appearing in exams are eligible if they have secured 65% marks in Fsc/’A’ Level (Part-1) and have a certificate from the Principal indicating their expected pass grades (for FSC courses only). Candidates with O/’A’ Level background need to provide equivalence certificates (Pre-Engg/Pre-Medical).
