The Government of Pakistan's National Database Registration Authority, commonly known as NADRA, has officially announced a nationwide recruitment drive for the post of Superintendent (Vigilance) in 2026. This recruitment is being carried out under the provisions of Regulation 9, 10, and 11 of NADRA Employees (Service) Regulations, 2002. NADRA is inviting applications from highly skilled, experienced, and disciplined professionals who possess a verified background in intelligence operations to fill vacancies spread across the length and breadth of Pakistan. The announcement covers positions at the headquarters in Islamabad as well as dozens of regional and district-level locations across all four provinces and territories.
This is a rare and prestigious government job opportunity that places successful candidates at the intersection of national security, civil administration, and identity management. NADRA's Vigilance Wing plays a critical role in protecting the integrity of Pakistan's national identity database, and the Superintendent (Vigilance) is the frontline officer responsible for maintaining that integrity in the field. Whether you are a retired military intelligence professional, a former police sub-inspector, a civil intelligence officer, or a female candidate with intelligence field exposure, this recruitment is specifically designed to bring qualified and experienced individuals into NADRA's operational framework.
About NADRA — National Database Registration Authority
The National Database Registration Authority was established in the year 2000 and has since grown into one of Pakistan's most technologically advanced and strategically important government agencies. NADRA is primarily responsible for the registration, management, verification, and maintenance of Pakistan's national civil registry. Its most visible product is the Computerized National Identity Card, or CNIC, which every adult Pakistani citizen is legally required to hold. Beyond the CNIC, NADRA also manages smart cards, passports, biometric verification systems, birth and death registrations, and electoral roll management in coordination with the Election Commission of Pakistan.
NADRA maintains a database of over 120 million registered citizens and operates hundreds of National Registration and Facilitation Centers across Pakistan, including urban mega-centers and rural facilitation points. The authority serves Pakistanis not only within the country but also through its overseas centers across the globe.
The Vigilance Wing of NADRA is a specialized internal security and anti-fraud division. It is tasked with detecting and preventing identity fraud, CNIC forgery, impersonation, unauthorized data manipulation, and other criminal activities that threaten the integrity of the national database. Officers of the Vigilance Wing conduct surprise inspections, field investigations, and intelligence-based surveillance of NADRA offices and their surrounding environments. The Superintendent (Vigilance) is the core operational rank of this wing, and the position demands a combination of intelligence training, field experience, and personal integrity.
NADRA offers its employees structured career progression, federal government pay scales, comprehensive medical benefits, job security, and the satisfaction of contributing directly to national security and public administration. The authority is well known for its merit-based, transparent recruitment process, which is conducted entirely online.
Position Title and Job Summary
The position being advertised is Superintendent (Vigilance). This is a field-level intelligence and enforcement role within NADRA's Vigilance Wing. The Superintendent (Vigilance) is responsible for monitoring the conduct and operations of NADRA registration staff at the grassroots level, investigating complaints of fraud or irregularity, conducting covert and overt field surveillance, preparing intelligence reports for senior management, and coordinating with external law enforcement and intelligence agencies to address threats to the national identity database.
A Superintendent (Vigilance) is expected to conduct surprise inspections at National Registration Offices and Mega Centers, investigate cases of alleged CNIC fraud or data manipulation, identify and report vulnerabilities in NADRA's field operations, liaise with agencies such as the Intelligence Bureau, NIA, police, and civil administration, and assist in the cancellation and reversal of fraudulently issued CNICs. The role requires someone who can work independently in the field, maintain strict confidentiality, and produce accurate, timely intelligence reports under pressure.
Educational Qualification
The minimum educational qualification required to apply for the post of Superintendent (Vigilance) is Matric, also known as the Secondary School Certificate or SSC, from a board of education recognized by the Government of Pakistan. Candidates holding higher academic qualifications such as intermediate, graduation, or post-graduation are equally eligible and encouraged to apply. The Matric qualification is the baseline requirement, and no candidate will be considered who does not meet this minimum standard.
Intelligence Course Requirement
In addition to the basic educational qualification, male candidates must have successfully completed a recognized intelligence training course of a minimum duration of three months. This course must have been conducted by one of the following authorized institutions: the School of Military Intelligence (SMI), the Directorate of Signals Intelligence (DSI), the National Intelligence Academy (NIA), the School of Intelligence (SOI), Naval Intelligence, or the Intelligence Bureau Academy (IB Academy).
The intelligence course certificate is a mandatory document that must be scanned and submitted as a PDF attachment along with the online application. Applications submitted without this document will be rejected outright, regardless of other qualifications or experience. It is strongly advised that candidates confirm the validity and authenticity of their course certificates before applying.
This intelligence course requirement is explicitly stated to be not applicable for female candidates. Women who wish to apply for the Superintendent (Vigilance) position are not required to have completed any of the above-mentioned intelligence courses.
Work Experience Requirement
Male candidates must also demonstrate a minimum of four years of post-qualification experience specifically in field intelligence operation setup. This experience must have been gained after completing the required intelligence course, and must be in an active, operational intelligence environment rather than a purely administrative or clerical one. The experience must be supported by verifiable documentation such as a service certificate, experience letter, or equivalent official record from the relevant intelligence organization.
Like the intelligence course requirement, the four-year field experience requirement is also not applicable for female candidates. However, female candidates who have served in any intelligence setup, even without meeting the four-year minimum, are given special preference. If a female applicant has such experience, she is strongly encouraged to attach an Experience Certificate from the relevant intelligence organization along with her CV, as this will significantly strengthen her application.
Age Limit
The maximum age limit for the post of Superintendent (Vigilance) is 52 years. This is the upper age boundary beyond which no candidate will be considered. It is important to understand that this 52-year limit already incorporates a five-year age relaxation that the Government of Pakistan provides under its standard recruitment policies. This means the base age limit without any relaxation would be 47 years, and the additional five years have been pre-included in the announced figure. No further age relaxation beyond the stated 52 years will be admissible under any circumstances.
