This recruitment is being conducted in the Directorate of Land Management Headquarters Office, Lahore, on a contract basis. The official notification has been issued under Office Memorandum Number 49(4)/2023 (P and D), dated 14th April 2026, and carries the authority of Allah Bux Chahal, Assistant Personnel Officer R&S for Chief Personnel Officer.
Applications are being invited for a total of eighteen different positions across various categories and designations, ranging from senior managerial roles to assistant and inspector-level posts. This is a significant employment opportunity for qualified Pakistani professionals, particularly those with backgrounds in engineering, law, GIS, business administration, and land management. The contract-based nature of these positions means that selected candidates will initially serve for one year, with the possibility of extension subject to satisfactory performance. All eighteen positions carry competitive pay scales with additional admissible allowances, and the recruitment process is merit-based with regional quota allocations to ensure provincial representation.
About Pakistan Railways and the Land Management Directorate
Pakistan Railways is a federal government institution operating under the Ministry of Railways. It is the primary rail transport service of Pakistan and one of the largest employers in the public sector. With a network spanning thousands of kilometers and connecting cities across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan, Pakistan Railways plays a vital role in the movement of people and goods across the country.
The Directorate of Land Management is a specialized division within Pakistan Railways responsible for the management, protection, documentation, and commercial utilization of railway lands. Pakistan Railways owns an enormous portfolio of land assets spread across the country, and the Land Management Directorate is tasked with ensuring these assets are properly recorded, protected from encroachment, and managed for maximum institutional benefit. The directorate deals with land acquisition, lease management, revenue generation, legal disputes over railway property, geographic information systems for land mapping, and anti-encroachment operations.
Given the scale and complexity of railway land management, the directorate requires professionals with highly specific qualifications and experience across a range of disciplines. This 2026 recruitment is aimed at filling critical gaps in the directorate's human resource capacity at both managerial and operational levels.
